The 36th Annual GMA Canada Covenant Awards nominations were recently announced with Integrity Music's artists and albums receiving nine nominations, including six nominations alone for The City Harmonic.
Winners of multiple Covenant Awards in years past, The City Harmonic received nominations this year for Artist of the Year and Group of the Year, Album of the Year and Worship Album of the Year for Heart and Song of the Year and Praise & Worship Song of the Year for "Praise The Lord."
"We're so grateful to be honoured with six nominations at this year's Covenant Awards," said Elias Dummer, lead singer for The City Harmonic, whose members hail from Hamilton, Ontario. "This has been a year of highlights for us--with so many taking place in Canada--and we're overjoyed to have finally had the chance to travel coast-to-coast in Canada as a band. Many thanks to everyone involved in the Covenant Awards, as we together recognize the exciting season we're in with so many diverse Canadian artists creating beautiful art."
Additionally, Integrity's All Sons & Daughters were honored with a nomination for International Song Of The Year for "You Remain" while Paul Wilbur was nominated for Praise and Worship Song for "It Is Good," (co-written with Matt Maher). Rend Collective was honored with their first Covenant nominations in the categories of International Album for The Art of Celebration and International Song for "My Lighthouse."
Israel Houghton received a nomination for Francophone Song of the Year for "Tu Changes Toutes Choses" which he co-wrote with fellow nominee and newly signed Integrity artist Sidney Mohede. Another new Integrity family member, Greg Sykes, received three nominations for New Artist of the Year, Inspirational Song of the Year for "Faithful" (co-written with Joel Auge) and Praise and Worship Song for "We'll Be Singing" (co-written with Benji Cowart).
"This year's Covenant nominees are an amazing group of talented artists and songwriters, and we are honored to represent them and their albums and songs to the global church," said Adrian Thompson, Integrity's Vice President of A&R.
